Hard acrylic bonding solutions can sometimes leave a visible track which is why some customers opt for our silicon-based adhesives. Our water base glue is white in colour and becomes clear once dry. The water-based formula is milder and easier on the skin. This range is beneficial to those with active lifestyles looking for a very strong, reliable hold. Like all our products they are waterproof and oil-resistant which makes them great for humid climates. These adhesives can last up to a number of weeks.
How to Use Wig Glue
From pre-application, hairpiece adhesive application, to post-application- we have you covered!
Start with a clean scalp:
- By ensuring your scalp is clean this will help bond your hairpiece by allowing the glue to stick better. Starting with a dirty surface can make it difficult for adhesives to form the strong and reliable bond you want.
- Once oils are cleaned from the scalp and it has been dried, you can start adhesive application.
Directions for application:
Application is hassle free and seamless but depending on your wig type you may need to take different steps.
If you use Poly systems:
- Apply one thin coating of adhesive to the hair system base and 4 thin coatings to the head. Apply each coat as soon as previous coat turns clear (approx. 20 seconds).
- After the 4th coat wait 7 minutes and press hair system into place.
If you use Lace systems:
- Apply 4 thin coatings of adhesive to scalp only
- DO NOT APPLY TO LACE BASE. Apply each coat as soon as previous coat turns clear (approx. 20 seconds).
- After the 4th coat wait 7 minutes and press hair system into place.
- It is very important you don’t shower for 24 hours after adhesive application. This is a very important factor in the bonding process and the hold you will get. Even if you take a shower and do not get your hair wet, it doesn’t matter, the adhesive will still separate from the scalp.
- The reason for this is the warm water causes your body temperature to rise. Because significant amounts of the body’s heat escape through the scalp, it will very quickly penetrate through the wig adhesive and cause it to become loose. Any water-based lace wig adhesive needs at least 24 hours to fully cure, no matter what type it is.
Removal and Cleaning:
- To remove from the hair unit please use our Adhesive Remover.
- The recommended cleaner to remove from the scalp is Ultra-Safe Adhesive Remover.
